The Short

The holders of Fantom-based projects like ZOO, BOO, and Spirit, will receive UBI and OPE airdrops starting in June. Each community will 'compete' with others to get a higher percentage of the airdrops. The more your community posts quality content to their own forums, the more of the airdrops that project will get. The first calculation will be done on May 4. Each will then have 3-4 weeks to decide how they want to allocate their airdrop and work out address lists and amounts.

As long as there are people from your community posting info for others about your project on the ope.fund website, you're good to go. (Not everyone needs to post, but the more the better.)

Each month, there may be more projects on the list as the ecosystem grows.

This website, ope.fund, is the 'Fantom helper' to help the Fantom community learn about projects, get questions answered, and minimize dubious projects on the chain.

The Long

Doing airdrops right is tricky. A project generally has three options: 1) keep it secret, like Uniswap; 2) reward whales, as a proportional airdrop; or 3) reward cheaters, who create multiple addresses in anticipation of a Uniswap-like airdrops where every address gets the same number of tokens.

Add to that projects can do their own airdrops to wallets that may never even participate in the project, which complicates it even further.

For the OPE and UBI airdrops, things will be done differently.

Instead of 1 big airdrop for both tokens, each will have from 12-26 airdrops spread out over the next year. OPE and UBI are both long-term projects that want to grow with the ecosystem, so this outlook is important. It is also important that the communities providing the airdrops benefit, as well as the ecosystem overall.

To distinguish between real members of each community and multiple addresses with one person behind them, or bots, each project will 'compete' for OPE and UBI airdrops by demonstrating how much they want to see the emerging Fantom ecosystem grow. This method will help minimize the 'dumping' that usually happens when those who weren't really interested in the project at all receive their tokens.

The Competition

If you're a member of the ZooCoin community, for example, go to the ZOO forums and add posts and info for the Fantom community. We will be counting the number of topics and replies in each project's forum on May 4, 2021 (around midnight UTC), and coming up with a score. Topics are weighted more than replies. Your coin's share of the total score will determine the % of the airdrop that it gets.

If you don't see your coin/community, just post it as a thread in the 'Live Tokens & Projects' forum. Projects that are building exclusively on Fantom Opera will get the airdrop, but any project is free to post.

Every month we will re-calculate the score, as there will be new projects joining Fantom.

Please Note: Very short posts, fluff, irrelevant content, etc., to get the numbers up will be removed and won't count towards the total (and may potentially flag your account).

Airdrops Via Community Consensus

As each coin is different, there is no one kind of airdrop that works for every project. That's why we will allow each project's community to figure out where its own allocation will go. They will need to work out their own address lists and percentages to come to a consensus on who gets what and display it publicly in their forum.

To clarify, users will post for the benefit of their community. A person that doesn't post here but still holds ZOO, for example, will benefit from the actions of those in their community that do post content in there forum.

Date of Calculation

The date of calculation for forum posts will be May 4, 2021. After that, each community will decide the date of their first snapshot (before June).

Subsequent Airdrops

Following the first airdrop of OPE and UBI tokens, additional airdrops will follow.

Do I need To Hold The Tokens of All Projects?

No. But the more you hold the more you will probably receive. Each community will determine it's own distribution, and they will probably include a certain number of holders in that list.

What If I'm an OPE or UBI Holder?

For OPE and UBI holders can head over to their respective communities to add content to receive tokens of the other project.

How About OPE and UBI Liquidity Providers?

The communities of OPE and UBI will decide how much their respective liquidity providers will receive. Lliquidity providers may be required to keep liquidity at the time of the snapshot up to the date of the first airdrop.

Amounts

For both UBI and OPE, 20% of each token's total supply will be available for airdrops to LPs and holders of Fantom projects over the next 2 years.

Exact amounts will also not be made public (until you get them).

Example

Let's take a simple example:

ABC project has a total of 10 topics and 15 responses on May 4 for a total score of 30 ((10 x 1.5)+15)
XYZ project has a total of 20 topics and 40 responses on May 4 for a total score of 70 ((20 x 1.5)+40)

If the airdrop was 100 UBI and 100 OPE tokens then...
ABC gets 30 UBI + 30 OPE tokens distributed
XYZ gets 70 UBI + 70 OPE tokens distributed

Each community will determine where the tokens will go. For example:

ABC community decides that 50% will go to the top 1000 addresses on May 20th and 50% to go to LPs
-15 UBI and 15 OPE to top 1000 addresses
-15 UBI and 15 OPE to LPs

XYZ wants 70% for the top 500 addresses on May 10th and 30% to NFT holders.
-49 UBI and 49 OPE to top 500
-21 UBI and 21 OPE to NFT holders

Hope this helps a bit :giggle:

Cross-chain projects are all the hype right now, and it's easy to see how the future may be cross-chain. What considerations are there for projects that are expanding from other chains to Fantom? Would they still be considered Fantom-based? I noticed that popsicle.finance hasn't been included for consideration in any of the airdrop discussions thus-far, but that project brought a huge amount of liquidity onto the Fantom network and basically put Fantom on the map for a lot of users. It also launched on Fantom (and ETH and BSC) from day one, so I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned here. There are also several other projects that started on other chains and added support for Fantom later, such as Cream, Sushiswap, HyperJump, Curve, etc. What relationship will OPE have with projects in the Fantom ecosystem that go beyond Fantom?

This is quite interesting and concept. I would like to propose a new idea or utility for OPE and UBI tokens.

One more thing what we should add here a concept similar to LAUNCHPAD for new projects that you have in Binance). Instead of airdrops, you can stake your existing tokens including OPE and UBI, or other community tokens whose services the new project may be using; and then give out the new project tokens to them as staking rewards.

This will not only help the DEXs to compete with CEX like Binance but also give time to the new project to generate interest among the people which they are preparing for the launch.

Really like the Launchpad idea !

Also, as an avid forum user the idea to use the airdrop to populate the forum is excellent.

Absolutely tricky, so i think can reward the people who have positive(even they didn't have coin in there wallet) effect and keep it secret first, then so many people will focus on it, next period reward the people who got liquid in a fixed amount. And the last airdrop also for the people who got liquid in a fixed amount.
My english is not good enough, and i'm a noob in coin circle.
So hope my reply can make a little effect to help!!;)

This is a good idea, which can help FTM develop rapidly! No other project has done this well.

I think most of all having a positive and forward thinking approach to the whole airdrop concept is fresh and should be encouraged. too much negativity and fomoing in this scene already - a nice change.

No pains,no gains. It do make sense that giving bigger profit to those who spend more energy to build their community. I appreciate this brilliant change.

And here is a little more suggestion:
Maybe the calculation method should add up with counting the time that each user login and active in the forums (base on the premise that you can pick out the account is not inveracious), since they do, for example, readed those topics and replies carefully and learnt a lot, but failed to share their own idea because lack of technical knowledge.
Of course the weight factor of "time" must be much lower than making a sound, but everyone who really want to join the community should be part of the airdrop activity, even though they may won't get a token when there's too many users joined and the community admin have to pick up the tops only.

All the best for you guys.

First of all, each project has its own way of airdrop. The way of distribution is not very important. The important thing is that everyone should actively participate in and accompany the development of the project

I hope the airdrop needs to be tilted to people who have been deeply involved in the FTM ecology for a long time,
So, airdrops need to add a time factor or the number of interactions with the project

There is no doubt that token airdrop is a very complex thing, and the recent events on FTM are very eye-catching! A large number of airdrops are given to a small number of participants, so that the randomness of each airdrop depends on luck, so whether there are more airdrop conditions to be based on

I think support of the native projects should be prioritized to bring this project it's true colors and flavours.

Very good idea, the construction of the community needs rewards, which can help the community grow faster

I think some airdrops should be given to people who hold more and more lp of FTM
Must have both eco lp and FTM lp
For example ftm-usdc ftm-wEth ftm-wBtc and zoo-ftm, boo-ftm
